“Do not waste time bothering whether you ‘love’ your neighbor; act as if you did. As soon as we do this we find one of the great secrets. When you are behaving as if you loved someone, you will presently come to love him.”
What We Do and Why: Often it is not the person in the paper but the person in our path that needs our love and mercy the most. We are certainly called to love the sojourner, the hungry and the desperate but Jesus broadens the group and simply calls them our “neighbor.” In 2017 Saint Pats gave approximately $22,000 away through our Benevolence Fund. In 2018 we are joining with congregations around Weld County on July 14th for an event called Serve Day. By joining other churches in the community for service on one particular day, we hope to remind our neighbors the Christ’s Church cares for them. We also hope to remind ourselves that we have a responsibility to the people next door.
